Maryland experienced heavy rainfall with widespread flooding of low-lying areas (river valleys, creek valleys, streams, low-lying urban areas… etc), gusty winds, beach erosion, coastal flooding and at very heavy rainfall.

A cold front approached the region from the Shenandoah Valley during the mid to late afternoon hours accompanied by a line of severe thunderstorms as well as a few super cells. The Storm Prediction Center placed the National Capital Area under an Enhanced Risk of Severe Thunderstorms.
